Second Chance Games is a specialist historical board wargaming shop based in the Wirral, United Kingdom. It has been established for over 30 years and specialises in mail order sales. Buying from us
Browse our site and add items to your basket. When ready proceed to the checkout and confirm items, postage options, delivery address and payment options. You will receive email notification of an order being made from Paypal and by ourselves.
We operate from a “shop” but cannot always guarantee to be able to open to passing trade. We kindly advise customers wishing to visit the shop to arrange a mutually convenient appointment using the contact form or by telephone. Contacting us several days in advance is beneficial.
We currently use Paypal to facilitate secure payments for web orders. You can order via the phone and pay by debit or credit card. We can securely store your card details off line to allow you to order via email or postal letter in the future. Payments can be made by cheque. We strongly recommend that customers do not send credit card information via email. It is safer to order online (which is encrypted), or the telephone.

Pricing
All our games are priced in UK Pounds Sterling.
Discounted prices will also advertise the original price that we once sold the game at.
We have the right to amend our prices yet orders confirmed and paid for will not be affected by any such changes.
Shipping And Handling
Items will be packed with care and are sent out as soon as possible after payment has been processed, often the same day. You will receive email notification of an order being sent. Please allow sufficient time for an item to be delivered. We sometimes split an order into several packages and these packages may arrive separately. Anticipated delivery times are as follows:
- Second Class 2-3 days,
- First Class 1-2 days,
- Next Day 1 day
- Europe 3-5 days
- Outside Europe 5-7 days
We send with Royal Mail using their second class, first class for the UK and their international services elsewhere. In addition we have next day options in the UK with DPD and internationally with DPD, DHL, and APC courier services.
On larger orders we may use a courier service. In these cases we provide your email address and phone number to the parcel company to provide tracking details and assist in the timely delivery of the parcel. This applies to DPD and DHL deliveries.
Game Conditions
The vast majority of items are new and sealed. Items that are not new will be described within the game description.
Please Note:
1. Some manufacturers do not shrink wrap their games.
2. Occasionally we have to open games to replace missing components from a prior order. When we receive the replacement components we remake a complete game that is now unwrapped.
Our second hand games are graded on many factors:
Overall condition - Excellent to Average, Counters - Unpunched, Part punched, Punched, Map(s), Player Aids and Box where approproiate
Some older stock (new and second hand) is graded as shelf worn.
Postage
We calculate all postage based on the total order weight. You will need to ensure your address is added to enable full postage options to appear. We factor this into our games by rates provided by our postage partners. This ensures that allows for correct postage to be met. This system works in the background and is visible when either logged into your account or with your address added in the checkout area.
Some points to note:
Most boxed games will cost £4 2'nd Class UK; Most magazine cost £2.50-£3.80 2'nd Class UK. The maximum UK charge for postage is around £8 (excluding remote locations) with items being posted via DPD. There is an additional option to use DHL for £12 irrespective of the amount of games ordered for UK shipments.
United Kingdom:
Second Class UK & BFPO. Minimum of £2.50
First Class UK. Minimum of £3.00
Next Day UK. Minimum of £8.00
United Kingdom Highlands and Islands. As above; no additional charges.

Outside Europe: Minimum of £8.00
Pre Orders
We list games for pre-order to offer a saving to our customers. We sell at a reduced price (approximately 10%) from what we anticipate the retail price to be. We have good links with the US publishers and update them on our future requirements based on our pre orders.
We offer two systems for pre-ordering a game.
Option 1:
Buy the game from our website (or by telephone) and pay now at the time of checkout.
Option 2:
Register your details with us and pay later when we send the game out. This will require you to update the card on record and you will be charged the full retail price. This policy is needed as the price we buy the majority of our games in foreign currency.
Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
Your orders and pre-orders can be cancelled before the item is despatched. If you need to cancel please telephone as emails may not be read before the post is sent out.
- Cancellations made within 180 days can receive a full refund or credit
- Cancellations made after 180 days can receive a refund or credit (less applicable fees ~3%)
If you have ordered the wrong item and wish to return it please do not open it. We need to receive it back to us in the same condition we sent it. If it is an error on your behalf you will have to meet the postage costs. We will instruct you as to which address to send it back.
Secure Payment
At the present moment all our web orders are fulfilled with Paypal. Paypal facilitates secure payments using secure encrypted payment systems and we do not store credit card details for web sales.
Lost/Misrouted Items
On confirmation that an item has been lost by exhausting all tracking options for your order we will then endeavour to send a replacement or a full refund. In the case of misrouted parcels, we will contact the shipping company to re-direct the parcel to the correct address. If this cannot be done we will treat it as a lost parcel. See above. In the eventually of the original parcel arriving, the customer will have to return the item to us and any expensive will be paid by Second Chance Games.
Guarantee
All games have a money back guarantee if any part is found to be missing or damaged. All prices are quoted in UK Pounds Sterling. We like our customers to be pleased with their purchases, and will replace or exchange any item with which you are not fully satisfied within a period of 30 days as long as the item is returned to us in saleable condition.
Privacy Policy
Second Chance Games does not disclose customer information to third parties.
We do provide the minimum necessary information (Name, Address and Email address and phone number) to the postal and delivery companies to facilitate delivery of your orders.

Second Chance Games reserves the right to alter or amend the specifications, prices and delivery costs of the products offered for sale. We can withdraw them completely without prior notice. We can amend the Terms of Service. Our Guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights.
